Privacy Policy
Effective date: TBD — update before launch. Last revised: 2026-05-12.
In short
We at Go Left Consulting AB ("we", "us") operate the Turrar app for poker clubs and their members. We care about your privacy and want you to feel safe when we process your personal data. To provide the service, we need to process some personal data about you.
We will process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Administrate your registration and login to a Turrar account.
- Provide the features of your account — your profile, the pokerrooms you belong to, the tournaments you join, and your results.
- Show pokerrooms near you (only if you grant location permission on your device).
- Provide customer support and handle any questions or complaints.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for marketing or profiling. We do not run third-party analytics, ad networks, or tracking. The only third party that handles your personal data is Google, which provides our authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure (Firebase) as our data processor.
What are your rights?
When we process your personal data, you have certain rights under the GDPR. You have, for example, the right to access your personal data, request that we delete it, withdraw your consent, object to our processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The full list is at the bottom of this page.
Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?
Go Left Consulting AB (Swedish registration number 556855-8919) is the data controller responsible for the processing of your personal data.
If you want to know more about our processing of your personal data, or if you want to exercise any of your rights, please contact us:
- Email: privacy@turrar.com
- Postal address: Östra Ågatan 31, 753 22 Uppsala, Sweden
- Phone: +46 18-495 04 65
From where do we collect your personal data?
We collect your personal data directly from you when you register a Turrar account and when you use the app. Some information is required to use the service; everything else is optional, and the more you choose to add, the more functionality you get.
We also receive information about you in these situations:
- If you sign in with a Google account, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google in order to administrate your Turrar account.
- If a pokerroom admin invites you, the admin's act of creating the invite (which references your future account) is the source of the link between you and that pokerroom.
- When you participate in a tournament, the tournament organiser may enter results that reference you (place, score).
The personal data you need to provide to us
You only need to provide what is strictly required to use the service — an email address (to sign in) and a display name. In the detailed tables below, processing where the legal basis is "Performance of a contract" or "Legal obligation" indicates data you must provide; without it, we cannot make the service available.
Everything else (full name, phone number, city, country) is optional and you choose whether to add it.
Who can gain access to your personal data and why?
Your personal data is primarily processed by Go Left Consulting AB, which means it is handled by employees and contractors only to the extent needed to operate the service.
Certain information is visible to other Turrar users by design:
- Your display name (nick) is visible to other members of any pokerroom you join, and to other participants in any tournament you enter.
- Your tournament results are visible to all participants and members of the pokerroom that ran the tournament.
- The pokerrooms you belong to are visible to admins of those rooms.
Email address, phone number, full name, and any other contact details you choose to enter are not shown to other users.
In addition, we share your personal data with the following recipients in order to operate the service:
- Google (Firebase) — provides authentication, database storage (Cloud Firestore), and web hosting on our behalf as our data processor. Google may, separately, process your data as a controller for its own purposes (for example, when you sign in with your Google account); for more information, see Google's privacy policy.
- Apple — if and when Sign in with Apple is available in the app, Apple acts as the identity provider for that sign-in flow.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
Where is your personal data processed and for how long is it stored?
Our infrastructure (Firebase) processes your personal data primarily within the EU/EEA. Some operational processing — for example, error logs, support traffic, or backups — may take place outside the EU/EEA in jurisdictions where Google operates. Such transfers only take place in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, meaning we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your personal data.
We retain your personal data for as long as you have a Turrar account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app — your player record and personally identifiable data are removed; tournament results are anonymised (your display name is replaced with "(deleted user)") so the historical results of other participants remain intact.
Detailed description of how we process your personal data
The charts below describe in detail why we process your personal data, which categories of data are processed, our legal basis under the GDPR, and how long we retain it.
To administrate your Turrar account
| Purpose | Personal data processed | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Register your Turrar account. Enable you to sign in (by email/password or by Google). Communicate operational notices to you when necessary. |
Email address. Password (stored hashed by Google Firebase Auth — we never see the cleartext). Display name. Account-created timestamp. |
Performance of a contract. The processing is necessary in order for us to enter into and fulfil the contract concerning your use of Turrar. If this data is not provided, we cannot create or maintain the account. |
Storage period: for as long as you have a Turrar account. When you delete your account, your personally identifiable data is removed.
To provide the features of your Turrar account
| Purpose | Personal data processed | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Maintain your profile. Record which pokerrooms you belong to and your role within each. Record your participation in tournaments. Record tournament results entered by the tournament organiser. Display history, statistics, and upcoming events. |
Display name. Pokerroom memberships and roles. Tournament participations and results. Optional information you choose to add: full name, phone number, city, country. last_active timestamp (refreshed once per app open).
|
Performance of a contract for the account features themselves. Legitimate interest for the optional profile fields you choose to register — to provide a personalised experience within Turrar. |
Storage period: for as long as you have a Turrar account. Tournament participation records are retained after account deletion in anonymised form (your name is replaced with "(deleted user)") so that the integrity of other participants' historical results is preserved.
To find pokerrooms near you
| Purpose | Personal data processed | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Determine your current location, on demand, in order to suggest nearby pokerrooms. | Your device's current geographic coordinates, fetched only at the moment you request the feature. | Consent. Location is only accessed if you grant the operating system's location permission to the app. You can withdraw this consent at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app works without it. Coordinates are used in-session only and not stored on our servers. |
Storage period: not stored on our servers. Coordinates are used at request time and discarded.
To provide customer support
| Purpose | Personal data processed | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Answer any questions you have about Turrar. Handle complaints, claims, and account issues. |
Display name. Email address. Any information you choose to include in your message. |
Legitimate interest to provide customer service. Performance of a contract where needed to fulfil our contractual obligations to you. |
Storage period: for the duration of the support matter and afterwards for as long as you have a Turrar account.
To comply with legal obligations
| Purpose | Personal data processed | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Document data-subject requests (access, rectification, erasure, etc.) and our responses, where required to demonstrate compliance. | Display name, email address, and the content of the request and our response. | Legal obligation — Article 12 of the GDPR. |
Storage period: three years from the date of the request.
What are your rights when we process your personal data?
You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of them, contact us at privacy@turrar.com.
Right to information and access
You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether we are processing personal data about you and, if so, to receive a copy of that data. The copy will include the purposes of the processing, the categories of data, who the data has been shared with, expected retention periods, and information about your other rights under this section.
Right to rectification
You have the right to correct any inaccurate personal data we hold about you and to have incomplete data completed. Most profile fields are also editable directly in the app.
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
You have the right to request that we delete your personal data, under the circumstances described in Article 17 of the GDPR. You can also delete your account directly in the app. Tournament participation records are retained in anonymised form so that the historical results of other participants are not affected.
Right to restrict processing
Under certain circumstances described in Article 18 of the GDPR — for example, if you dispute the accuracy of data we hold — you can request that we restrict our processing of your personal data while we resolve the matter.
Right to data portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to have it transferred to another company where technically feasible. This applies to data processed on the legal basis "performance of a contract" by automated means.
Right to withdraw consent and object to processing
Where our processing is based on consent (for example, location access), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Where our processing is based on legitimate interests, you have a right to object; we will then weigh your objection against our legitimate reasons.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You always have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Sweden, this is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
Balancing of interests assessments — "legitimate interests"
For some purposes (notably: optional profile fields and customer support) we process your personal data on the legal basis of legitimate interests. We have assessed that our legitimate interest in providing those features outweighs the limited intrusion into your privacy, particularly because each piece of optional data is something you actively chose to provide, and because the processing is narrowly scoped to running the service you signed up for.
If you want more information about any aspect of how we process your data, or to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at privacy@turrar.com.
